REQUESTS AND RESPONSES

Tony Caferella has recently sent us a copy of his small book, Corunna Downs, The Invisible Airfield, WW2 Air Field. It brought back many memories of our trips there, and I'm sure it will to you also. The book is priced at $8.50 Australian plus postage. I'm sure a check for $8.50 US should cover everything. His address is:

Mr. T. Antonio Caferella
P.O. Box 24
Hawker, S.A. 5434
AUSTRALIA

Several of you asked how to get copies of the picture of CARROT TOP which Sherwood Sheehan showed at the Tucson Reunion after receiving it from Ian Quinn, who was at the San Diego Reunion in 1998. Here is Ian's response to our request:

The "Carrot Top" painting was commissioned by me to commemorate Bill Ross, my father in laws' mission in it on the 2nd Sept '44 to Lautem Timor. According to his logbook he had to feather #1 engine, the artist has done this as #4 but as it is such a good painting this is a minor detail.

I can get direct scans off this like the one your may have seen at the reunion which are done commercially as the painting is 2'6"X2'. I don't wish to make any gain out of this personally and the cost is quite high but I will try and get it down by bulk orders to $50. I will pay the postage and post them in the US when I have a flight there.
