380th Bomb Group Association

 NEWSLETTER #10 -- March 2002

Compatriots and Friends,

Good news! The 380th Aircraft Project is up and running on our website with the first 40 aircraft already listed. The rest will follow as soon as Barb can find time to do it. Please see our more detailed discussion inside.

Progress has been made in arranging the Salt Lake City Reunion; the preliminary hotel and associated activities information, along with the preliminary program, is included in this issue. We look forward to seeing all of you there and to having a great reunion!

Please note the discussion herein concerning the Memorial Register at the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., and also those being established by others. These provide another way of assuring our remembrance in the years to come. Listed also is discussion of a method to assure preservation of our wartime correspondence and our other mementoes for posterity. Although most of us would rather not have to consider such things, there are many priceless items of history lost or discarded every day by unthinking relatives and others settling our final affairs. We need to specify ahead of time what we wish done with them.

I call your attention to the A-2 Jacket Raffle offered by Andrew Martinez to help raise funds for our history research project. Our most sincere thanks go to Andrew for his generosity and thoughtfulness.

To preserve the memory of the 380th.

Sincerely,

Theodore J. (Ted) Williams
