NEWSLETTER #18 -- March 2004

Compatriots and Friends:

Our next major event is the Dedication of the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Friday and Saturday, May 28-29, 2004. As you know, Pat Carnevale has a block of rooms reserved, transportation arranged, and tickets ordered. Everyone who can should try to come. It will be a once-in-a-lifetime event which I am sure we would all enjoy. I have been watching the construction of the Memorial on my visits to Washington to the Archives for our history data and can tell you it is already spectacular.

Pat tells us things are going smoothly for the Reunion in the Boston area (the hotel is actually in the Braintree area, south of the city).

We have worked up the information requested at the Williamsburg Reunion concerning the 380th's shift from England to Australia for our war service. I think you will appreciate the machinations involved in such a major change.

Best wishes for a happy spring and early summer. We are looking forward to seeing many of you in Washington and in Boston.

To preserve the memory of the 380th.

Sincerely,

Theodore J. (Ted) Williams
