Notes from Bob Livingstone, 5/20/22: 30th Service Squadron made unknown ‘special modifications’ to this aircraft during February 1944; this, and not 42-73116 (as reported in BEST IN THE SOUTHWEST, p 133), was the aircraft involved with the MAC between 452 Sqn RAAF Spitfire VIII A58-435 (F/O A K Kelly) on 18/Sept /44; listed in 29/April/44 20th Stat Control daily list as B-24D-1 at “30th Service Squadron Fenton, repairs available May 26th, Class 2”
