At the time of the 2007 Reunion, one of our members suggested that a Reunion Fund be started to help with the costs associated with the reunion. These would be extra funds donated by our members (in addition to the event registration fees) to help keep our costs down.

For those of you who would really like to participate in the reunions but cannot be there in person, this is one way to help others.

We have received about $100 so far for the Reunion Fund - thanks to all who have contributed!

If you think this is a good idea and would like to contribute, please send a check payable to "380th Bomb Group Association" to Barbara Gotham, 130 Colony Road, W Lafayette IN 47906-1209. Please mark "Reunion Fund" on the memo line of your check, or send a note indicating how you would like your donation to be used.

As you know, the 2009 Reunion will be held in Savannah, Georgia. Barb Gotham is in contact with the Savannah Convention & Visitors Bureau and she is working with them to get bids/proposals from various hotels in the Savannah area to host our 2009 Reunion.

If you live in or near Savannah, or have had recent experience at hotels in the area, please send Barb your input regarding:

(1) The best month to hold our reunion there (September, October or November).

(2) The best location for our hotel (Midtown or outside the city, such as Pooler - which is where the Mighty 8th AF Museum is located).

(3) Suggestions for group activities.

Barb Gotham has been approached by visitor bureaus in various Western and Midwestern cities interested in hosting the 380th Bomb Group Association reunions for 2010 and 2011. Proposals from these cities will be presented at the Members Meeting at the 2008 Reunion, and will also be printed in the Winter 2008/2009 newsletter issue.
